Bishkek, Nov.19, 2019. /Kabar/. The European Union's support for Kyrgyzstan's budget reflects the Union's confidence in the reforms under way in the country, EU Special Representative for Central Asia Peter Burian said during the High-Level International Donor Conference.

He supported Kyrgyzstan's priorities in attracting investment and using domestic resources.

“These priorities are reflected in Kyrgyzstan's development programs. I repeatedly wanted to note the strong political will to speed up the implementation process,” the EU representative said.

Burian noted that the European Union wants and will remain a strong and reliable partner of Kyrgyzstan, what also stated in the document on bilateral cooperation.

In addition, the EU Special Representative for Central Asia said the European Union intends to support Kyrgyzstan's modernization process and access to technology.

“The most innovative technologies and equipment are worthless if there is no human potential. Therefore, we welcome that education is a priority in Kyrgyzstan,” he added.

“Additional funds will be allocated in the future budget cycle. But they may not be enough, and we expect other institutions to provide support,” he said.
