Eurasian Economic Union single currency to be discussed at expert level

Bishkek, Dec. 15, 2017. / Kabar/. The introduction of a single currency within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) is being discussed at an expert-high level. The Deputy Chairman of Russian Government Arkady Dvorkovich announced this at the briefing of the sixth Interregional Conference of Cooperation in conditions of Eurasian integration.

The idea of ​​a single currency from experts periodically arises, so far just as the idea, it is not discussed at the official level, Dvorkovich told.

"We are interested in the use of national currencies during our mutual trade. It is clear that Russian ruble is a common currency due to the size of the country, and trade in rubles will increase. Whether a single currency will be used is early to say, however we will continue the expert discussion on this issue," Dvorkovich said.
