Bishkek, Sept. 18, 2022 / Kabar /. Citizens evacuated from the border villages of Batken Oblast are provided with everything necessary, Deputy Minister of Labor, Social Development and Migration of Kyrgyzstan Nurdoolot Bazarbaev told reporters at Kabar Agency.
He said that first of all, evacuated citizens are provided with hot meals and overnight stay. Later, if necessary, medicines and warm clothes.
“It should be noted that as part of the instruction of the country's top leadership, collection points for humanitarian aid for Batken Oblast have been opened throughout Kyrgyzstan,” he said.
According to the latest data, 136,770 residents of Batken Oblast have been evacuated. 4,458 citizens are placed in temporary shelters across the oblast.
The evacuation has started following the clashes on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border, when the Tajik side attacked border guarding and civilian infrastructure objects of Kyrgyzstan along the perimeter of the state border in Batken Oblast.
