Bishkek, Jan.13, 2020. /Kabar/. Evacuated citizens from Dohma section of Kok-Tash village of Kyrgyztsan's Batken Oblast have returned home, Batken Oblast Governor Akram Madumarov told Kabar Agency.
According to the governor’s data, all the evacuated 254 people gradually returned home, as the situation has stabilized.
On Jan. 10, 2020 at 1 a.m., unknown citizens of Tajikistan threw stones at the cars of two Kyrgyz citizens on the Osh-Batken-Isfana highway.
At 2:40 a.m. shots were fired at the section of the Kok-Tash border post in the Dakhma area from the Tajik human settlements, which forced the Kyrgyz side to begin evacuating women and children.
The shots were stopped at 8 a.m. According to official data, the situation at the station is now relatively stable.
Next day, Jan.11 Presidents of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov and Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon held phone conversation to discuss the situation at the border.
Prime ministers of the two countries, as well their deputies also discussed issues related to joint measures to stabilize the situation at the Kyrgyz-Tajik section of the state border.
