Bishkek, Nov. 21, 2018 / Kabar /. /. An event dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the classic of world literature, Chyngyz Aitmatov, took place in Ashgabat at the State Library of the Cultural Center of Turkmenistan.
The event, organized by the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan, was attended by representatives of creative circles of Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan, heads and employees of diplomatic missions accredited in Turkmenistan and representative offices of international organizations, Kyrgyz citizens living in the country.
Before the start of the event, the participants familiarized with a photo exhibition dedicated to Aitmatov and an exhibition of his books, available in the State Library of the Cultural Center of Turkmenistan and in the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Turkmenistan. Manas narrator and the komuz player Kulmat Sydykov played an excerpt from the Manas epic and Kyrgyz national melodies.
In the course of the event, which was opened by Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Turkmenistan Zhanysh Rustenbekov, representatives of the creative circles of Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan told about the work of the great writer. A keen discussion was held among the participants on the rich cultural heritage of Aitmatov.
At the end of the event a documentary film about the classic of world literature “The Master's Testament” was shown.
The event was held in the framework of the activities planned in Turkmenistan on the 90th anniversary of the world-famous writer, public figure and diplomat Aitmatov.
