Bishkek, Aug. 30, 2024. / Kabar/. A gala evening dedicated to Kyrgyzstan's Independence Day and the 100th anniversary of the Kara-Kyrgyz Autonomous Region was held in Minsk, the capital of Belarus.

Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to the Republic of Belarus Erbol Sultanbaev noted that Independence Day is the main national holiday of the Kyrgyz Republic, and the 100th anniversary of the formation of the Kara-Kyrgyz Autonomous Region is an important anniversary date marking the revival of Kyrgyz statehood.

He focused on the history of those years and the role of outstanding sons of the Kyrgyz people, such as Zhusup Abdrakhmanov, Imanaly Aidarbekov, Ishenaly Arabaev, Abdykerim Sydykov, Torokul Aitmatov, Kasym Tynystanov and others.

Erbol Sultanbaev especially emphasized that the Kyrgyz people have experienced both ups and downs in their centuries-old historical path - from the power of the Great Kyrgyz Khaganate to the loss of their statehood and its restoration at the present stage of development. But no matter what difficulties the Kyrgyz people have faced, they have always preserved their national identity, culture and traditions.

Having thanked all those present, the ambassador presented memorable national gifts to the heads of the House of Friendship of Minsk and the Friendship Society "Kyrgyzstan-Belarus".

The evening was accompanied by a screening of video materials about Kyrgyzstan and performances by various creative groups.
