Exercises of joint CSTO group of forces in Kazakhstan

Within the framework of the Poisk-2018 joint special tactical training exercises, the stage of the combat use of reconnaissance forces and equipment of the joint CSTO group of forces began in Kazakhstan on Wednesday, the press service of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

At the Gvardeisky training ground of the 40th Otar military base, the joint command and control bodies of reconnaissance forces and equipment completed planning and sent combat and reconnaissance orders to the troops in close cooperation. The exercise headquarters conducted a hearing of reports on the evaluation of the conventional enemy, the command to conduct all types of intelligence was given.

Thanks to the unique automated data transmission system – Irbis, the command headquarters of the exercise carries out live recording of the practical actions of the troops at all sites in real-time mode.

The peculiarity of the exercise is that all practical actions of the personnel will be carried out in conditions of limited visibility. In the evening, integrated reconnaissance groups equipped with night vision devices and sights will start working simultaneously at four test sites.

At the Aisha-Bibi training ground, the military personnel from the Kyrgyz military contingent, having formed a consolidated reconnaissance group with Kazakhstan, having been air landed, completed tactical exercise of searching for and identifying a conventional enemy at night with live firing exercise. They organized an ambush and a raid on the base of the illegal armed groups at night in mountainous area.

At the same time, two reconnaissance groups of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and Kazakhstan will be air dropped at the Matybulak training ground.

The Poisk-2018 joint special tactical training exercises are held in Kazakhstan from October 1 to 5. It involves military contingents of six CSTO member states, more than 3 000 military personnel and over 500 units of equipment, including aviation and reconnaissance equipment.
