Exhibition dedicated to Kyrgyzstan’s Independence Day opens in Bishkek

Bishkek, Aug.28, 2019. /Kabar/. The Kyrgyz National Museum of Fine Arts named after Gapar Aitiyev has opened in Bishkek the exhibition “In peace and harmony. The art of the USSR”.

The Museum’s press service reported that the exhibition is devoted to the Soviet fine arts of the 30-90s of the XX century.

The exhibition is opening on the eve of the Independence Day of the Kyrgyz Republic and features works by artists from Belarus, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, the Baltic States (Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia), Russia, Ukraine and the Central Asian republics (Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan).

Every year on Aug.31, Kyrgyzstan celebrates the Independence Day of the Republic. On that day, in 1991, an extraordinary session of the Supreme Council of Kyrgyzstan adopted a resolution on the “Declaration on the State Independence of the Kyrgyz Republic”. According to this historic act, the Kyrgyz Republic was declared an independent, sovereign and democratic state.
