Exhibition dedicated to Manas epic opens in South Korea

Bishkek, March 11, 2019. / Kabar /. Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to the Republic of Korea Dinara Kemelova on March 6, 2019 took part in the exhibition dedicated to the Manas epic in Gwangju city, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

The exhibition is organized directly by the Center for Asian Culture with the assistance of the Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism of the Republic of Korea, the Ministry of Culture, Information and Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic and the National Library of the Kyrgyz Republic and with the support of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Korea. The exhibition presents the books "Manas" in Korean, drawing Manas with sand, digitized paintings on the history of the epic, as well as artistic paintings about the cultural traditions and crafts of the Kyrgyz people. In addition, workshops on painted drawings on paper and installation of a mini-yurt are organized.

During the visit, Kemelova met with President of the Center for Asian Culture Li Jin-sik, with whom she discussed further plans for cultural and humanitarian cooperation and the promotion of tourism in the Kyrgyz Republic in Korea. In particular, an agreement was reached on holding the Days of Culture of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Days of Kyrgyz Cinema in Korea, as well as the participation of Kyrgyzstan in various fairs and exhibitions in Gwangju.

The Kyrgyz Ambassador also met with Vice Mayor of Gwangju Gyeong-Zhong, during which the issues of interregional cooperation were discussed. In particular, establishing sister city relations with Osh, the issues of possible export of Kyrgyz products to Korea were also discussed.

The ambassador also met with representatives of the Kyrgyz diaspora.
