Exhibition of famous Italian photographer to be held in Bishkek

Bishkek, Nov.19, 2024. /Kabar/. The Gapar Aitiev Museum of Fine Arts will host on Nov. 21 the opening of a unique international exhibition “Parallels of Sofia” organized within the framework of cultural exchange between Kyrgyzstan and Italy.

The exhibition will feature the works of famous Italian photographer Sofia Lavrov, who is an expert in photography and works with the world's fashion houses, organizers said.

Sofia Lavrov, a photographer with 12 years of experience, will present her solo exhibition in Kyrgyzstan for the first time. The exhibition will feature a series of photographic works reflecting cultural parallels between Turin and Bishkek.

In total, about 60 photos will be presented, which will allow viewers to compare and contrast the architecture, streets and people of the two cities.

Sofia Lavrov noted after after Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov's visit to Italy, Italians' interest in Kyrgyzstan has significantly increased, and she is confident that this will open new opportunities for bilateral cooperation in various fields, including culture and art.

This is the second project organized within the framework of cultural cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Italy. The first project was held in July this year and was an art photo exhibition of Luisa Pilioni reflecting the inner world of women.
