Experts discuss in Bishkek draft agenda of International Snow Leopard Forum

Bishkek, August 3 / Kabar /. Meeting of senior officials of snow leopard habitat states was held in Bishkek on August 2-3 to discuss draft agendas and the final Declaration of the forthcoming International Forum on the Conservation of the Snow Leopard and Its Ecosystems, the press service of the State Agency for Environmental Protection and Forestry of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

The meeting was attended by representatives of environmental departments and foreign ministries of Afghanistan, China, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

It is expected that the forthcoming forum will become an important platform for the exchange of views and the definition of plans for further cooperation on the conservation of the snow leopard, and measures to create 20 key landscapes of their habitat by 2020.

The International Forum on the conservation of the snow leopard and its ecosystems will be held on August 24-25 this year in Kyrgyzstan.
