Experts from customs administrations of Central Asian countries trained in Baku on integrated border control

Bishkek, May 7, 2024. /Kabar/. Experts from the customs service and the association of customs brokers of the Kyrgyz Republic took part in training on customs risk management and integrated border control, the press service of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

The event, dedicated to best practices in customs risk management and integrated border control, was attended by experts from customs administrations from the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, which also contributed to the exchange of knowledge and the establishment of contacts between customs authorities, promoting improved cooperation and creating connections along the Trans-Caspian international trade route.

Over the course of two days, country delegations made presentations on the following topics:

 organizational structure of risk management;

 risk targeting and forecasting, including the establishment of risk assessment criteria and the use of predictive algorithms;

 use of technologies and innovations in risk management, such as machine learning methods and artificial intelligence;

 international experience and best practices.

Participants also discussed issues of cooperation and coordination at the regional level. The State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan organized a visit to the Baku International Sea Trade Port in Alyat, which is of strategic importance in the global connectivity of Europe and Asia along the Middle Corridor.
