Experts from Poland sum up their work in Bishkek

Bishkek, Apr. 24, 2020. /Kabar/. Medical specialists from Poland have completed their work in Bishkek today.

For four days they were in the Republican Clinical Infectious Disease Hospital (RCIDH), and together with the specialists of this hospital were monitoring patients infected.

On Apr. 24, the team will leave for the cities of Osh and Dzhalal-Abad.

Regional office of the World Health Organization hosted the meeting of First Deputy Chief of President’s Office Almaz Kenenbayev, Deputy Prime Minister Aida Ismailova, Health Minister Sabirzhan Abdikarimov, Head of WHO Country Office in Kyrgyzstan Nazira Artykova and others.

The meeting participants discussed results of the specialists' observations, as well as exchanged opinions on the work being done by Kyrgyz specialists.

At the meeting, Coordinator and Head of the Polish group Michal Madeyski first of all praised the level of training of the RCIDH specialists, coherence in the work, measures taken by the hospital management to prevent disease among the staff.

It was also noted that the methodology and approaches in treating patients with coronavirus infection are similar to those used in Poland and Italy.

"I highly appreciated the training of my colleagues, during these days we were sharing our experiences and observations and discussing the methods of treatment. We were observing the treatment of serious patients in the intensive care unit and patients with asymptomatic disease.

It should be especially noted that a lot of beds are deployed in Kyrgyzstan to receive patients. Our measures are similar, and the right decisions have been made on quarantine, monitoring of people at home is also the right decision, but it requires strict control by law enforcement agencies. As for the increase in morbidity among medical professionals, it is high both in Poland and Italy," he noted.

At the end of the meeting, Health Minister Sabirzhan Abdikarimov expressed gratitude to the World Health Organization for the technical support provided to the health system of the Kyrgyz Republic, colleagues from Poland for practical advice in the treatment of patients.

A group of eight medical specialists from Poland have arrived on Apr. 19 in Kyrgyzstan through the World Health Organization.

As of Apr. 23, a total of 631 cases of coronavirus infection has been registered in Kyrgyzstan, among them 162 cases of medical personnel infection.

302 citizens have recovered and been discharged from hospitals, 8 have died.
