Extraordinary session of Jogorku Kenesh not held

Bishkek, Nov. 26, 2021 . / Kabar / . An extraordinary meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, scheduled for today, Nov. 26 did not take place.

MPs could not gather a quorum, only 5 deputies registered.

An agenda of the session was to consider formation of a special parliamentary commission to consider the submission of Prosecutor General of Kyrgyzstan Kurmankul Zulushev on consent to prosecute MPs Asylbek Jeenbekov and Torobai Zulpukarov.

Earlier, the Pervomaisky district court of Bishkek left in custody deputies Asylbek Jeenbekov and Torobai Zulpukarov, who were detained in the Kumtor case and imprisoned in detention facility of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) of Kyrgyzstan.

They are held in the SCNS detention facility until Jan.30, 2022.
