Osh, Mar.5, 2020. /Kabar/. Two official holidays of Kyrgyzstan were solemnly celebrated yesterday, Mar.4 in Batken town (Batken Oblast) - the Day of Ak Kalpak (white cap) and the Day of the National Flag of the republic, the press service of the Batken Oblast state administration reported.
Batken Oblast Governor Alisher Abdrakhmanov, heads of local institutions and organizations, local residents and youth took part in the festive event.
Young people in white traditional male hats walked along the central streets of the city in honor of the festive event.
Then, a concert program was organized for those present.
On Mar. 5, Kyrgyzstan celebrates the Day of Ak Kalpak, a holiday in honour of the national male headdress of Kyrgyz- ak kalpak, established by Resolution of the Jogorku Kenesh (Kyrgyz Parliament) of June 29 2016 in order to preserve the significance of the national headdress.
The Day of the National Flag of the Kyrgyz Republic is celebrated annually on Mar.3. The holiday is established by the Decree of President of the Kyrgyz Republic "On the State Flag of the Kyrgyz Republic" dated June 10, 2009 in order to educate citizens of Kyrgyzstan in the spirit of patriotism and respect for the state symbols of the country.
