Feasibility study for construction of CKU railway to be ready in 2023

Bishkek, Aug. 25, 2022. / Kabar /. The development of a feasibility study for the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway will be completed in 2023, Roman Spassky, chief engineer of the Kyrgyz Temir Zholu state enterprisetold.

This year, all three parties have begun detailed negotiations on the project.

“We decided to involve specialists in the development of a feasibility study. 157 Chinese specialists arrived on Aug. 2.One group will go to Naryn region, the other to Jalal-Abad. The development of the feasibility study will be completed by the second quarter of 2023,” Spassky said.

He added that the Torugart-Arpa-Makmal-Jalal-Abad route remained the same.

“We have not yet raised the issue of construction, so it is not known who will build the road. We will deal with this after the feasibility study,” the engineer said.
