Festival “Kyrgyzstan is Country of Mountain Skiing and Winter Tourism” to be held on February 2

Bishkek, Jan. 28, 2019. /Kabar/. The tenth charity festival “Kyrgyzstan is Country of Mountain Skiing and Winter Tourism” will be held. on February 2, Director of the Department of Tourism Maksat Damir uulu told at a press conference at the Kabar News Agency.

He noted that the event will be held at the ZIL ski base near Bishkek.

“Within the framework of this festival various campaigns by sponsors and co-organizers will be held. The festival is held within the development of winter tourism in Kyrgyzstan,” the head of the Department emphasized.

The purpose of the festival is to promote the potential of winter tourism and a charity event.

“All funds will be transferred to those in need,” he added.

In turn, expert of the Secretariat of the Business Development and Investment Council under the Government of Kyrgyzstan Askat Seitbekov noted that the festival has been held for 10 years in a row and the role of business and the Department of Tourism is important here.

“Every year, 240-250 thousand soms are collected. And every year we decide where we will direct them,” he said.

The festival organizers said that last year 237 thousand soms were collected. Of these, 115 thousand soms were transferred to the NGO “Hand in Hand” (Association of parents of children with autism). 112 thousand soms for poor children with heart disease. 10 thousand soms were transferred to the social village "Manas".

This year, the commission will determine where the money will be sent. Children with autism are already on this list.

Speaking on the festival program in detail, Seitbekov emphasized that many contests and entertainment programs had been planned.

“We invite our citizens to participate and contribute to charity. You don't have to pay anything, you just need to come. But if someone wants to make another contribution, he/she can purchase tickets for the lottery (150 soms each). We will make discounts for those visitors that day on ski suits and ski passes,” he added.

Director of the ZIL ski base Akbar Roziev added that transer and hot pilaf will be organized for all visitors.
