A comprehensive solution to the problems of combating the illicit drug trafficking, which is one of the most serious challenges and threats to security, is relevant for CIS partner countries, Kyrgyz Prime Minister Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev said at the regular meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS CHG).
The narrow format meeting is taking place at the Skolkovo Innovation Center in Moscow.
“The Kyrgyz side supports the signing of the Protocol on Amendments to the Agreement on Cooperation of the CIS Member States in Combating Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and Precursors of Nov. 30, 2000,” said Abylgaziev.
As for the CIS Games, the prime minister said this initiative will contribute to the promotion and development of physical culture and sports in the CIS, including among the younger generation.
According to him, Kyrgyzstan supports the proposal to hold the regular meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government on May 29, 2020 in Uzbek capital Tashkent.
At the end of his speech, PM Abylgaziev expressed confidence the results of today's CIS CHG meeting will be a good basis for further constructive interaction among the member states of the association.
