Bishkek, Apr. 7, 2020. /Kabar/. The production of the Menin jalgyz mekenim bar (I have one homeland – Kyrgyzstan) full-length documentary film was completed at the Kyrgyz Film studio.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Culture, Information and Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic, the film was shot under a government order. The work is dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the April People's Revolution.
"The film tells the story of our ancestors, as well as historical events after the independence of the Kyrgyz people until 2010 events. All the way passed by the people is our history, invaluable experience and wealth," the report says.
The film will be shown today, Apr.7 on state –run channels:
On KTRK (Public Broadcasting Corporation of the Kyrgyz Republic) channel at 8:05 p.m.;
On Ala Too-24 at 9:45 p.m.;
On ElTR at 10:45 p.m.
On Apr.7, 2010, protesters led by opposition leaders stormed the parliament building in Bishkek and took over the headquarters of several major broadcasters and caused president Kurmanbek Bakiyev to flee his home residence and, ultimately, to flee the country.
Roza Otunbayeva was then chosen as head of the Interim Government. The anniversary of the Revolution was declared a public holiday in 2011.
About 100 people died, more than 400 people were wounded during the April Revolution.
