Bishkek, April 22, 2021 . / Kabar / . Former Kyrgyz journalist Kairat Birimkulov, who has been living and working in Switzerland since 2007, has become the producer of the Boroon (Blizzard) movie. He told Kabar News Agency himself.

The film was shot in Kyrgyzstan under his supervision, and the presentation will take place in Lucerne in this June.

According to the producer, the film shows real social problems in the life of residents of remote areas of Kyrgyzstan.

"At the end of last year I decided to start film production. Before coming to Switzerland, I worked as a TV journalist and produced reports on social policy issues. However, producing feature films is a new challenge for me. As co-producer of the Boroon film, I decided to organize crowdfunding and direct the funds raised to ensure the completion of the film, which is also a temporary document," Birimkulov wrote on his Facebkk page.

"The film is based on a true story and it really touched me personally. This boy and I are the same age. It is possible that he is a mature man today - and lives in one corner of Kyrgyzstan. He and I were born in the same country - a country you won't find on the map of the political world anymore. It was called the Soviet Union and this year it will be 30 years since it ceased to exist.

Unfortunately, because of the pandemic, the presentation of the film had to be postponed for a year. And even now there is no possibility to present it for Kyrgyz film viewers. That's why the presentation will take place in Lucerne in Switzerland, where I have been living and working for over 10 years," Birimkulov said in a conclusion.

The producer provided Kabar New Agency with exclusive photos from the new film.
