Filmmakers from Kyrgyzstan and Mongolia to shoot joint feature film

Bishkek, Oct. 9, 2024. /Kabar/. On October 7, Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy Altynbek Maksutov met with Mongolian filmmakers and Minister-Counselor of the Embassy of Mongolia in the Kyrgyz Republic Erdenebat Gendendaram.

During the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness for further cooperation in the field of culture, sports and cinematography, the ministry said.

The Mongolian side announced the beginning of cooperation with Kyrgyz filmmakers to create a joint friendly feature film.

The parties agreed to hold Days of Kyrgyz Cinema in Mongolia and Days of Mongolian Cinema in Kyrgyzstan. The Mongolian side also proposed to organize the production of performances on a parity basis in theaters of the Kyrgyz Republic and Mongolia.

Altynbek Maksutov expressed support for the implementation of the ideas of the Mongolian side and informed that the state is making every effort to develop Kyrgyz cinematography by increasing the budget for film production, building pavilions, and updating equipment for filming.

The minister also proposed opening a Kyrgyz corner in the Ulaanbaatar Museum.
