Films about Manas and other historical figures to be shot in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, July 15, 2021. / Kabar /. The Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy submits for public discussion the draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers "On Amendments to the Resolution" On the State Order for the Creation of a National Feature Film ".

The document obliges to take measures to create films about the Manas epics, small epics, animated films for children and adolescents, films about historical figures and scientific and educational through the state order.

From the day of gaining independence of the Kyrgyz Republic to the present, a full-length two-part feature film "Kurmanzhan Datka" was released on the screens under the state order in 2013. Also, the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic made decisions on a state order for the creation of national full-length feature films about Alymbek Datka, Shabdan Baatyr, Tailak Baatyr, Kozhomkul Baatyr, for which competitions for the best scripts were held.

It should be noted that in recent years, private film studios have been filming films about historical figures, which do not fully reflect the large-scale level of these personalities. In addition, critics note the low artistic level, the weak acting of the main characters, the unreliable historical background of the events taking place in the film. Such films did not produce audiences like the films of the "Kyrgyz miracle".

The additions and changes made to the current resolution will help to increase the artistic level of the films being created, to attract scientists in the field of history, biographers, editors to the creation of films, and to form a high-quality script portfolio. These films are aimed at preserving the historical memory of the population of the Kyrgyz Republic, moral and spiritual education of a new generation of Kyrgyzstanis, who will be able to get acquainted with stories about the heroism and justice of the baatyrs, the life of the people, the preservation of primordial values, love for the Motherland, its protection, the establishment of justice, friendly relations between people and states, replenishment of the national film fund with films of historical, cultural, artistic value, as well as the development of the scientific and information base of cinematography.
