Financial Fair to be held in Bishkek

Bishkek, Oct.24, 2019 /Kabar/. Bishkek will host the Financial Fair within the framework of the World Savings Day, the press service of the State Agency for Youth Affairs, Physical Culture and Sports reported.

The fair, to be held on Oct. 29, will include:

- Exhibition of banking, microfinance, insurance, investment products;

- Training courses and presentations on financial literacy. Without advertising activities and using marketing tools;

- Independent consultations on financial literacy. Specially trained senior university students will participate as consultants;

- “Savings” game, aimed at developing financial literacy skills of young people.

The purpose of the event is to provide citizens with useful educational information on financial planning, correct and reasonable consumption of financial services and to provide visitors with consulting assistance.

The World Savings Day was established on Oct. 30, 1924, during the 1st International Savings Bank Congress (World Society of Savings Banks) in Milan, Italy. The Italian Professor Filippo Ravizza declared this day the "International Saving Day" on the last day of the congress.

In the resolutions of the Thrift Congress it was decided that 'World Thrift Day' should be a day devoted to the promotion of savings all over the World. In their efforts to promote thrift the savings banks also worked with the support of the schools, the clergy, as well as cultural, sports, professional, and women's associations.
