Bishkek, April 12 / Kabar /. On April 11, 2017, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Erlan Abdyldaev paid an official visit to the Republic of Finland at the invitation of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Finland Timo Soini, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reported.
During the meeting the two ministers exchanged views on the development of political dialogue at the highest level, further intergovernmental relations, contacts between parliaments, representatives of civil societies and business circles.
The sides stressed the desire to further intensify bilateral ties in political, humanitarian, trade and economic fields.
Soini expressed readiness to support Kyrgyzstan in implementing the national Taza Koom project, which aims to further strengthen democratic processes and ensure sustainable development of the country.
The interlocutors also discussed topical issues on the international agenda, including cooperation opportunities on some regional and international issues, and agreed to continue cooperation between the two countries within the framework of international organizations - the UN, the EU, the OSCE.
Abdyldaev handed over the Finnish side a congratulatory message from President of the Kyrgyz Republic Almazbek Atambayev in honor of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
At the meeting with Minister of Foreign Trade and Development of Finland Kai Mykkänen , the sides discussed the prospective areas of bilateral cooperation within the framework of the program of the Government of Finland "The Initiative for Enlarged Europe" on projects implementing in Kyrgyzstan, such as water management, health, strengthening of civil society and democracy in Kyrgyzstan , the rule of law, education, and the environment.
