Bishkek, Jan. 16, 2018 / Kabar /. The first Skiing Fan Club was opened in Kara Jygach village of Chui oblast, the State Agency for Youth, Physical Culture and Sports of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
At the opening of the first season, sportsman Tariel Jarkynbaev took part. Jarkynbaev got a license for upcoming Winter Olympic Games in cross-country skiing. Other participants were Jarkynbaev’s trainer Alexander Levdansky, the founders and organizers of the Skiing Fan Club and children's sport clubs.
The Vice President of the Golf Federation of Kyrgyzstan Konstantin Surikov said that on the basis of the golf club since early 2018, skiing track for more than 6 kilometers has been organized.
Surikov added that this work is carried out in order to support the development of winter sports. "Only one athlete from Kyrgyzstan will take part in ski races this year, but if we develop skiing sport among the young generation, we will have more participants in future. We will help our skiers," he said.
He also added that the prices for skiing is reasonable, it costs 350 soms for a set of skiers for the whole day without paying a fee for the route.
Head of the State Agency Kanat Amankulov said that domestic businessmen are supporting sport very well. "Today we witnessed the opening of a new base for cross-country skiers near Bishkek. It is very active and less traumatic. The cross-country skiing has its own great history. Opening the Skiing Fan Club is another step forward," he said.
Amankulov added that Tariel Jarkynbaev will go to Kazakhstan for training camps. "There are problems with inventory, but soon we will buy him a new set of competitive skis," the Head of the State Agency promised.
The organizers also told that besides the racetracks, all conditions have been created for young children too, such as skiing, tobogganing and skating.
