First Deputy FM and Japanese Ambassador discuss issues of mutual interest

Bishkek, Jan. 17, 2018 / Kabar /. First Deputy Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan Dinara Kemelova met on Tuesday with Ambassador of Japan to the Kyrgyz Republic Yoshihiro Yamamura.

During the meeting, the sides discussed issues of mutual interest, as well as further strengthening of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Japan within the framework of international organizations.

Kemelova stressed the need to intensify further cooperation in the field of protection and preservation of the historical and cultural heritage of mankind within the framework of UNESCO. In particular, the Japanese side was invited to assist in the conservation and museification of Nevakat and Ak-Beshim (Suyab) fortifications, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, in order to create the necessary conditions for increasing the flow of tourists.

The parties also discussed issues concerning the forthcoming 12th Meeting of Senior Officials of the Dialogue "Central Asia + Japan", to be held in Dushanbe, Tajikistan on Jan. 26, 2018.
