Bishkek, Aug. 22, 2024. / Kabar/. The First Lady of Kyrgyzstan Aigul Zhaparova today, August 22, spoke as an honorary guest at the World Women's Forum "Towards a Green Future" in Ulaanbaatar (Mongolia).
The forum is being held on August 22-23 under the auspices of President of Mongolia Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh in cooperation with the United Nations. The event is attended by heads of state, government and ministers from 15 countries, representatives of more than 20 international organizations, women leaders from all areas, such as business, culture and sports.
In her speech, Aigul Zhaparova, thanking the President and First Lady of Mongolia for the invitation to take part in this event, noted its high level of organization.
The First lady expressed confidence that the Forum will become a fruitful dialogue platform for building a fair, prosperous and peaceful society throughout the world, will strengthen the contribution to these processes, and also gives impetus to common activities for the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action.
Aigul Zhaparova noted that one of the Sustainable Development Goals for the period up to 2030, adopted by all UN member states, is to ensure gender equality, empowerment of all women and girls, which will make a decisive contribution to the promotion and achievement of most of the goals and objectives.
The First lady emphasized that in accordance with the sustainable development agenda, in September 2022, Kyrgyzstan adopted the National Strategy for Achieving Gender Equality by 2030. Aigul Zhaparova also outlined the State Program for the Support and Development of Women's Entrepreneurship in Kyrgyzstan for 2022-2026. In addition, she noted that Kyrgyzstan has ratified five UN Conventions directly related to women's rights.
Taking into account the theme of the forum "Towards a Green Future", the spouse of the President of Kyrgyzstan noted that women play a special and important role in the implementation of projects within the framework of the green economy of Kyrgyzstan.
The First lady emphasized that a large number of women express their willingness to invest in environmentally friendly production, services, and products. Women leaders in various industries are already demonstrating a commitment to sustainable methods of doing green business that have a positive impact on society.
She noted that in recent years, environmental initiatives have become increasingly significant, and women play a special role in this process in Kyrgyzstan.
In conclusion of her speech, Aigul Zhaparova emphasized that "Towards a Green Future" faces many global problems. However, women see these challenges as an opportunity to transform and create a better future for their children. It is important to be ready for change, to be open to new ideas and cooperation. Together, we can transform the world and make it greener for everyone.
