First meeting of Anti-Corruption Business Council under Kyrgyz President

Bishkek, Nov. 16, 2021 . / Kabar / . Bishkek hosted on Tuesday the first meeting of the Anti-Corruption Business Council under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic (ABC).

The meeting discussed the basic principles, approaches and measures to implement state anti-corruption policy.

In his speech, Sadyr Zhaparov noted measures on liquidation of actions creating conditions for corruption and emphasized that the whole system of state administration should stand on guard of legal interests of business and citizens.

He noted several mechanisms that involve business associations and the public in the fight against corruption, adding that the General Prosecutor's Office created an investigation department that will consider all cases of corruption.

The president also assured that all state and law enforcement agencies are taking the most decisive actions to stop vote-buying in the upcoming parliamentary elections.

The event was attended by State Secretary Suyunbek Kasmambetov, ABC Secretary General Nuripa Mukanova, ABC members representing government agencies, business associations, civil sector, scientific and educational institutions, as well as development partners and invited persons.

In addition, the presented Concept of Anti-Corruption Strategy of the Kyrgyz Republic was discussed. ABC members expressed their suggestions, comments, visions on the presented document and in general on the state anti-corruption policy.

President Sadyr Zhaparov answered questions, expressed his views on the proposals of the ABC members and had a word about the recent events related to the election campaigns of some candidates for the parliament.

At the end of the meeting, the ABC members passed a resolution that creates a working group to develop a draft strategy of anti-corruption policy of the Kyrgyz Republic for 2021-2024.
