First meeting of interparliamentary commission on cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan in Fergana

Bishkek, May 29, 2018 / Kabar /. The first meeting of the interparliamentary commission on cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan is held in the city of Fergana.

The parliamentary delegation of the Jogorku Kenesh, headed by Vice Speaker Asel Koduranova, was solemnly greeted by the Uzbek side at the Dostuk checkpoint as part of a working visit to Fergana.

At the meeting of the heads of the delegations Asel Koduranova and Sodik Safoev, the sides exchanged views on the inter-parliamentary cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.

During the meeting of the interparliamentary commission, Deputy Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh Asel Koduranova dwelt on the political and economic situation in the country, and briefly described the activities of the Jogorku Kenesh.

First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Sodik Safoev indicated that the past visits of the leaders of the countries were successful, 2017 became important in the development of Kyrgyz-Uzbek relations, the volume of trade doubled.

During the meeting, the sides discussed issues in strengthening inter-parliamentary relations, developing trade and economic relations, tourism and the agrarian sector, including resolving border issues and resuming rail service between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
