Tashkent, March 27, 2020./Kabar/. In Uzbekistan, a 72-year-old patient, resident of Namangan city diagnosed with COVID-19 died Thursday of an acute myocardial infarction, the Health Ministry's press service said.
The patient was admitted to the regional infectious diseases hospital March 26 this year. Around 23:00 the same day, laboratory analysis of the patient confirmed the presence of coronavirus.
He contracted it from his daughter, who returned from Turkey on March 12.
The woman was diagnosed with COVID-19 also, and has been placed in quarantine.
"The patient had been treated for many years for diabetes, chronic acute heart failure and other diseases," the report says.
So far, the number of detected cases of COVID-19 in Uzbekistan has reached 83.
