Bishkek, Feb. 20, 2023 / Kabar/. The first president of Kyrgyzstan, Askar Akayev, called the meeting with the former heads of the republic and Sadyr Zhaparov a truly historic event.
“Truly, this has become a historical event, in the words of our great writer Chingiz Aitmatov - the event “And the day lasts longer than a century!” As a direct participant in this meeting, it is obvious to me that this was carried out based on the highest interests of the people and the strengthening of the Kyrgyz statehood. By doing this, perhaps by pacifying his possible grievances against his predecessors, Sadyr Zhaparov showed his political wisdom and human generosity,” Akayev said.
He also emphasized that Sadyr Zhaparov, together with his team, achieved notable successes in all spheres of state and public life, in the domestic and foreign policy of the country for two years.
“Today, a situation has been formed in Kyrgyzstan that contributes to the economic breakthrough that is so necessary for the country and further dynamic sustainable growth - the basis for a sharp increase in the well-being of the people ... Of course, strengthening statehood, unity and harmony among the people is a direct and main constitutional duty of the president of the country. It is gratifying that he has begun to fully implement this duty in practice. Personally, I supported this initiative and called on my colleagues to agree and support for the sake of a prosperous future for Kyrgyzstan and strengthening stability in the Kyrgyz society,” Akayev added.
Taking the opportunity, he called on the people of Kyrgyzstan to be united around the popularly elected President Sadyr Zhaparov, in order to use the current favorable situation to make an economic take-off to build a prosperous Kyrgyzstan.
Head of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov met with former presidents of the Kyrgyz Republic on Saturday on a neutral territory.
The meeting was attended by Askar Akaeyv, Kurmanbek Bakiev, Roza Otunbaeva, Almazbek Atambaev, Sooronbai Jeenbekov.
