Bishkek, Jan. 31, 2024. /Kabar/. The first republican conference for the institutional development of beekeeping was held in Bishkek together with representatives of the country's honey industry, the press service of the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic said.
The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry Mail Aliyaskarov, heads of structural divisions of the ministry, donors, private beekeepers and stakeholders in the field of beekeeping.
The conference created a platform for beekeepers, government agencies, aggregators and exporters, bringing together about 160 beekeepers-exporters from all regions of the republic.
At the panel session, issues on a unified policy, long-term plans for the development of beekeeping for 2024-2030, the creation and development of a beekeeping cluster, the export potential of honey and honey products were discussed.
The main priorities of the Chamber of Beekeepers of Kyrgyzstan are to protect the interests of the industry, coordinate activities and increase the export potential of honey and related products through promoting the brand of Kyrgyz honey as an environmentally friendly product.
The conference is held by the Chamber of Beekeepers of the Kyrgyz Republic with the support of the USAID Trade Program in Central Asia.
