First train with goods from China arrives in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Feb. 8, 2021 / Kabar /. The first train with 47 containers from China arrived in the Alamedin railway station, First Vice Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Artem Novikov wrote on his Facebook page.

He emphasized the importance of this event, because these containers contain the cargo of Kyrgyz entrepreneurs, which was delivered by direct express from the city of Urumqi (China).

“Users of social networks have repeatedly pointed out the problem of cargo delivery on my pages. These containers contain the cargo of Dordoi shopping and entertainment complex entrepreneurs and other businessmen who have experienced great difficulties with the delivery of goods from China to the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic over the past year,” Novikov said.

He also stressed that over the past three months, on behalf of the then Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic, the current President Sadyr Zhaparov, a lot of work has been carried out, including negotiations with China to increase the number of freight traffic to the territory of Kyrgyzstan.

Novikov noted that such multimodal train transportation is practiced for the first time, previously there were single trains that transported raw materials, materials for domestic entrepreneurs.

He added that agreements have been reached on two trains a month, which will deliver about 100 containers with goods. Novikov also said that in the future, negotiations will be held to increase train traffic to 1000 wagons per month. In addition, it is planned to talk about air transportation.
