First UK Trade Mission to visit Bishkek

Bishkek, Feb. 24 / Kabar /. From 27 February – 1 March UK undertakes first historical Trade Mission to Bishkek. 16 UK companies are going to meet with representatives of businesses, ministries and international organisations.Delegation of UK companies is being led by British Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Robin Ord-Smith and Nigel Peters, Director of London based consultancy firm “British Expertise”.

The delegation is represented by companies, practicing international projects, focused on assistance in improving systems of technical and vocational education, design and delivery of engineering solutions for road construction, water supply and rural communities’ protection from natural disasters.

Trade delegation is meeting with representatives of the Government, Ministry of Economy, Agency for Investment and Export Promotion of Kyrgyzstan, Chamber of Commerce, heads of educational institutions and local businessmen. The event is aimed to establish stronger relations around education reforms, infrastructure development, standardisation and branding of tourism sector.

This will be the first ever UK trade delegation to Kyrgyzstan for all the time of bilateral relations between two countries. “Diverse and busy programme is a drive to strengthen partnership between British businesses and Kyrgyzstan, this event ideally highlights celebration of 25 years of bilateral relations between the countries” – concluded the Ambassador.
