First Vice Prime Minister Boronov comments on situation with Chinese citizens in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Jan. 9, 2019. /Kabar/. First Vice Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Kubatbek Boronov commented on the situation regarding Chinese citizens in Kyrgyzstan. He elaborated on this during a press conference at the Government House on migration issues.

Boronov noted that this year the Kyrgyz and Chinese sides are marking the 20th anniversary of the diplomatic cooperation.

He said that Kyrgyzstan has received a total of $ 2.1 billion of funds from China in the form of loans and grants, which were aimed at improving the living conditions of Kyrgyz people, including the construction and reconstruction of road structures.

“There are 397 Chinese enterprises in the country and 187 jointly working with ours. Their main focus is manufacturing,” Boronov said.

He also noted that according to the State Border Service, the number of Chinese citizens constituted 35,215 in 2018, that is, less than in 2017 (41,307 people).

“According to the State Registration Service, last year 24 thousand 836 citizens of China were registered. From 2010 to 2018, 286 Chinese citizens received Kyrgyz citizenship,” Boronov said.
