Fish feed production workshop opened in Ysyk-Ata

Bishkek, Oct. 27, 2022. /Kabar/. In the village of Novopokrovka, Issyk-Ata district, the official opening of a workshop for the production of feed for sturgeon and cyprinids took place.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the equipment was purchased with the financial and technical support of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in the Kyrgyz Republic for Aqua Service LLC.

In the manufacture of fish feed, agricultural products of local production are used. The capacity of the plant is 500kg/hour of extruded, granulated, sinking and floating feed.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic Muratbek Baidyldaev noted that the ministry is currently taking active measures to further establish and develop fisheries through the introduction of a modern, cost-effective aquaculture direction, the use of technologies and experience of other countries in the field of basin, cage, pond aquaculture. In recent years, fish farmers have begun to contribute to the food security of the republic, supplying the table with an important component of nutrition - fish and fish products.

The event was attended by Deputy Representative of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations Dinara Rakhmanova, Director of the Department of Fisheries E. Niyazov and other officials.

The equipment used is an environmentally friendly production, and this technology is being used for the first time in Kyrgyzstan. Also, in the feed manufacturing technology, new feed drying technologies are used, which reduce electricity consumption by 20%. A new technology is used to increase the fat content of feed by feeding fish oil directly into the extruder, where the feed is extruded and simultaneously granulated.
