Bishkek, Feb. 1, 2022 . / Kabar / . Five television and radio channels stopped broadcasting in Kyrgyzstan, Azamat Zhamankulov, the Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of the republic told a press conference at Kabar News Agency.
He noted that the ministry carried out licensing control of local TV channels.
"Thus, according to a special provision, TV channels that have previously been warned, fined, or found to have violations in complying with the state language and production of domestic content had their licenses revoked, namely: Channel 8, RTV Media, NTV KG, Domashniy and REN TV," the minister added.
Zhamankulov also noted that the Culture Ministry issued 996 licenses for broadcasting in 2021, of which 48 licenses were for radio broadcasting, 160 - for television and radio broadcasting, 837 - for television and radio broadcasting operators.
