Bishkek, Jan.11, 2020. /Kabar/. The 3rd Winter Youth Olympic Games got underway in Lausanne (Switzerland). The National Olympic Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic has published photos and videos.
According to Committee’s data, the solemn event began with a parade of athletes, followed by representatives of 70 countries.
The Kyrgyz flag was carried by biathlete Elena Bondarets.
Elena Bondarets and Islam Turganbayev will represent Kyrgyzstan at the Games.
The 2020 Winter Youth Olympic Games, officially known as the III Winter Youth Olympic Games, and commonly known as Lausanne 2020 is the third edition of the Winter Youth Olympics; a major international multi-sport event and cultural festival for teenagers to be held in Lausanne, Switzerland, the home of the International Olympic Committee between 9 and 22 January 2020.
A total of 1,872 athletes from 79 nations qualified, the most for any edition of a Winter Youth Olympics.
