Bishkek, Jan. 4, 2021 / Kabar /. A flash mob "For a referendum" and "For a presidential form of government", organized by an initiative group, was held in Bishkek at the Ala-Too Square.

“A referendum will be held on Jan. 10 to choose the form of government in the country. If you are not indifferent to the fate of the country, take part in the referendum! Participate, choose and take responsibility for the country into your own hands. Vote for a presidential form of government for the stability and prosperity of the country. A strong president is a strong state,” the participants of the event said.

In addition, they repeated in chorus: “We are for a referendum. We are for a presidential republic."

A member of the initiative group Tilek Salikeyev noted: “For 30 years of the parliamentary form of government, nothing has changed in the republic. We sincerely believe that the presidential form of government will show itself and positive dynamics are visible."

The flash mob was attended by about 120-150 people, as well as vehicles with propaganda materials.

Participants held red flags, balloons and flowers in their hands.

At the end of the event, the anthem of the Kyrgyz Republic was heard.

On Jan. 10 the voters will be offered to vote for either the presidential or parliamentary system of governance or against all the options.

The referendum will be held alongside early presidential election, which is also scheduled for Jan. 10
