Bishkek, Mar. 11, 2019. /Kabar/. An event dedicated to the World Birth Defects Day will be held in Bishkek, chief pediatrician of the Ministry of Health Bermet Samaganova told at a press conference at the Kabar News Agency.
She said that on March 12, a flash mob will be held at Dordoi Plaza shopping center in Bishkek. In addition, a week dedicated to prevention of congenital defects will be held across the country from March 11 to 15.
“The event will involve doctors, experts, medical students, who will tell the public about the rules that will help prevent congenital health defects in children,” Samaganova said.
She said that this problem is relevant for Kyrgyzstan. “The goal of the events is to draw the attention of young people to this problem so that they understand the responsibility for future children. Congenital anomalies often relate to the nervous and cardiovascular system of the child. And to treat children with congenital malformations is very difficult and even impossible. Congenital diseases adversely affect the development and consciousness of the child,” Samaganova added.
