Bishkek, Dec. 13, 2020 / Kabar /. In honor of the birthday of great Kyrgyz writer Chingiz. Aitmatov on Dec. 12, Consul General of the Kyrgyz Republic in Istanbul Nurlan Abdrakhmanov and the staff of the Consulate General laid flowers at his monument located in the park named after Aitmatov in the Maltepe district (Istanbul), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reported.
The event was also attended by Deputy Secretary General of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States (CCTS) Sultan Rayev and head of the Maltepe district municipality Ali Kilich.
Abdrakhmanov noted the high contribution of Aitmatov to the development and strengthening of ties between the Turkic peoples not only as a writer, but also as a great diplomat.
In turn, Deputy Secretary General of the CCTS Rayev thanked the Turkish side for perpetuating the memory of Chimgiz.Aitmatov and all those who contributed to the installation of his monument, emphasized the invaluable contribution of the writer to the development of cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the Turkic peoples.
Ali Kilich in his speech expressed gratitude to the Consulate General for the initiative to hold this event, mentioned the greatness of the personality of Chingiz Aitmatov, noting that the Turkish people honor the memory of the great writer.
