FM Kazakbaev holds meeting with acting PM of Moldova, Ukrainian FM

Bishkek, June 20, 2021 . / Kabar / . The first "Antalya Diplomatic Forum" under the theme of "Innovative Diplomacy: A New Era, New Approaches" has started its work, in which Kyrgyzstan's Foreign Minister Ruslan Kazakbaev is taking part.

Heads of states, governments and foreign ministers of more than 40 countries in Asia, Africa, Europe and Latin America, international organizations, political figures, political scientists, representatives of international business and the media are invited, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry said.

On the first day of the forum, Minister Kazakbaev met with Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Moldova Aureli Ciocoi and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba.

During the conversation, the sides noted the need to resume ties at the highest level and the intergovernmental commission for trade and economic cooperation.

They agreed that the countries have great potential to increase trade turnover, develop cooperation in agriculture, logistics and business contacts.

Ruslan Kazakbaev informed about the establishment of the Ministry of Investment of the Kyrgyz Republic, readiness to organize a business forum and drew attention to the importance of resumption of Kyrgyz-Moldovan and Kyrgyz-Ukrainian inter-ministerial consultations.

The Kyrgyz minister asked the Moldovan and Ukrainian sides to support the candidacy of the Kyrgyz Republic for the UN Human Rights Council for 2023-2025, as well as for non-permanent membership in the UNSC for 2027-2028.

In addition, in the course of the meeting with counterparts, Kazakbaev emphasized the Kyrgyz Republic is a member of several regional organizations such as the CIS, CSTO, EAEU, and in this regard, bilateral cooperation with these countries should not affect the obligations of the Kyrgyz party assumed by it within the above-mentioned international institutions.

At the end of the meeting, the ministers invited each other to pay official reciprocal visits.
