Bishkek, Sept. 22, 2022 . / Kabar / . Minister of Foreign Affaires of Kyrgyzstan Jeenbek Kulubaev participated in a Working Meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) member states chaired by the Armenian side in New York.
During the meeting, a constructive exchange of views on coordination of positions of the CSTO member states on the agenda of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly took place, the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry's press service reported.
Jeenbek Kulubaev also touched the situation on the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border, which has sharply deteriorated due to illegal, provocative and destructive actions of Tajikistan.
The minister noted that the fundamental international principles such as territorial integrity, inviolability of state borders, peaceful resolution of international disputes, non-use of force and threat of force, enshrined in the UN Charter and the Final Act of the OSCE, as well as other international documents were violated in a flagrant manner.
He called on the Tajik side to comply with international obligations to respect the territorial integrity and inviolability of existing borders in the framework of the CIS agreement of Dec. 8, 1991 and the Alma-Ata Declaration of Dec. 21, 1991.
The discussion also focused on the priorities of the CSTO activities during the chairmanship of Armenia in the Organization, as well as the preparations for the upcoming session of the CSTO Collective Security Council in the fourth quarter of this year.
The Kyrgyz foreign minister voiced Kyrgyzstan's international initiatives.
In particular, Kulubaev said that this year the Kyrgyz side is promoting draft resolutions of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly on declaring 2023-2027 the "Five Years of Action for the Development of Mountain Regions".
"This year, Kyrgyzstan is promoting the draft resolutions of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly proclaiming 2023-2027 as the "Decade of Action for the Development of Mountain Regions" and the "International Day of Disarmament and Nonproliferation Education".
In addition, Kyrgyzstan is promoting its candidacy to the UN Human Rights Council for 2023-2025 and FM Kulubaev asked the audience to support these initiatives.
