FM of Kyrgyzstan and President of Tajikistan meet in Dushanbe

Bishkek, Feb. 5, 2024. /Kabar/. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Jeenbek Kulubaev was received today by President of this country Emomali Rahmon during an official visit to Tajikistan, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry said.

At the meeting, Kulubaev conveyed greetings on behalf of President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov and noted that the development of bilateral relations with Tajikistan is a priority direction of Kyrgyzstan’s foreign policy.

The Kyrgyz minister informed the interlocutor about the progress of the parties’ implementation of the agreements reached by the heads of state of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.

During the conversation, the parties discussed current issues of bilateral relations, prospects for the further development of Kyrgyz-Tajik cooperation in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

An exchange of views took place on cooperation in jointly countering the threats of international terrorism and extremism, issues of interaction within the framework of regional and international organizations of the UN, CIS, CSTO and SCO.

As part of the visit, the head of the foreign policy department of the Kyrgyz Republic laid a wreath at the monument to the founder of the Tajik state, Ismoil Somoni, and, accompanied by the delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic, got acquainted with the progress of construction work at the Rogun hydroelectric station.
