Bishkek, March 1, 2023 /Kabar/. On February 28, 2023, as part of the participation in the Ministerial Meeting "Central Asia + USA" in Astana, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Jeenbek Kulubaev met with Secretary of State of the United States of America Anthony Blinken.
Issues on the bilateral agenda, promising areas of cooperation, as well as joint plans for interaction for 2023 were discussed at the meeting, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
The sides noted the opportunities for strengthening trade, economic and investment cooperation. Kulubaev expressed interest in attracting American companies with new technologies and modern production to the areas of green economy, energy, digitalization and others of mutual interest.
The parties stressed their commitment to continue joint work to ensure regional stability and security in Central Asia. The head of the Foreign Ministry of the Kyrgyz Republic expressed gratitude to the American side for the assistance provided in the repatriation of Kyrgyz citizens from Syria, expressing hope for the completion of this process in the near future. The American side welcomed the efforts of the Kyrgyz side to resolve issues of interstate borders as a factor in strengthening regional stability and security.
In addition, the sides discussed issues of facilitating and optimizing the issuance of visas for citizens of Kyrgyzstan.
