FM of Kyrgyzstan meets in Islamabad with his counterpart from Bahrain

Bishkek, March 23, 2022 / Kabar/. As part of the participation in the work of the 48th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, held on March 22-23, 2022 in Islamabad, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbaev met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani.

The press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry said that during the meeting the sides stressed the importance of developing bilateral political dialogue by organizing mutual visits at a high level, discussed issues related to the accreditation of concurrent ambassadors, expressing hope for further intensification of the entire range of relations between the countries.

Taking into account the rich experience of the Bahraini side, the Kyrgyz side proposed to intensify cooperation between the central banks of the two states in the apply and use of financing according to Islamic principles in order to establish a full-fledged Islamic bank in Kyrgyzstan.

In order to expand the bilateral legal framework, Kazakbaev submitted for consideration to the Bahraini side a package of draft documents in the field of tourism, education, medicine, agriculture, trade, investment, as well as on a visa-free regime for holders of diplomatic and service passports.

The sides reaffirmed their mutual desire to strengthen partnership and diversify bilateral ties by continuing close cooperation in providing support within the framework of the UN, OIC, SCO and other international organizations.

Minister Al-Zayani noted the importance of creating a dialogue platform "Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf - Central Asia", which contributes to strengthening ties between the regions, and also assured that the first events under this initiative would be organized in the near future.

In addition, the parties discussed issues of regional security and the current situation in Ukraine, noting the need to resolve the conflict exclusively through political and diplomatic means.

In conclusion, Kazakbaev invited the Bahraini counterpart to pay a visit to Kyrgyzstan.

Minister Al-Zayani expressed gratitude for the invitation and confirmed his readiness to pay a visit to Kyrgyzstan at a convenient time.
