Bishkek, Jan. 10, 2019. /Kabar/. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic held a meeting of Minister Chingiz Aidarbekov with representatives of the tourism sector of Kyrgyzstan.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Minister of Culture, Information and Tourism – Maksat Damir Uulu, Director of the Department of Tourism, representatives of the President’s Office, the State Committee for National Security and senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, the press service of the Foreign Ministry reported.
During the meeting, issues of visa support for tourists from foreign countries, the work of the Electronic Visa system, as well as existing problems and their solutions were discussed.
Representatives of the tourism business were informed about the ongoing work on the optimization and improvement of the Electronic Visa system, aimed at creating favorable conditions for the development of the tourism sector in the country.
Aidarbekov informed the those present about the results of the work of the Electronic Visa system. He noted that the Electronic Visa has significantly simplified the arrival of foreign tourists and businessmen in the country, and has reduced the time and material costs for issuing visas.
During the operation of the system electronically, more than 32.5 thousand visas of various categories were issued, including more than 25 thousand tourist visas, which demonstrates the success of the Electronic Visa.
He stressed that the statistics of issued electronic visas indicates that the system is becoming more and more in demand and is in increasing demand from both foreign tourists and domestic companies inviting foreign citizens.
The meeting participants, noting the importance of the work of e-visa, drew attention to issues related to the timing of the consideration of applications and refusals to issue electronic visas, and in general, to improve this system.
During the meeting, held in the format of a dialogue between representatives of state bodies and the tourist community, tour operators also expressed their wishes and recommendations on the issues of visa support for foreign tourists and noted fruitful joint work.
The sides agreed to hold such meetings on a regular basis.
