Bishkek, May 18, 2020 / Kabar/. Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Chingiz Aidarbekov and Georgian Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani had a telephone conversation on May 18.
The particular attention was paid to cooperation on countering the COVID-19 pandemic, in particular, measures taken by governments, as well as enhancing cooperation between medical institutions of the two countries, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
The Kyrgyz side expressed gratitude for the assistance in providing transit through the territory of Georgia for Kyrgyz freight carriers, despite quarantine measures.
In addition, the sides discussed a wide range of pressing issues of bilateral cooperation in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres and a schedule of contacts at the highest levels.
The foreign ministers also discussed issues of interaction within the framework of international organizations, including the UN.
The ministers agreed to hold inter-MFA political consultations at the level of deputy ministers in a video conference format.
During the conversation, the sides expressed their readiness to further build constructive, trusting and mutually beneficial relations.
