FMs of Kyrgyzstan and Ireland discuss activation of bilateral relations in phone talks

Bishkek, June 8, 2020 / Kabar /. A telephone conversation took place between Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Chingiz Aidarbekov and Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Ireland Simon Coveney.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, during the conversation, the sides exchanged views on the current epidemiological situation and measures being taken to ease quarantine restrictions. The importance of collaborative efforts to share experiences in further preventing the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic was also noted.

The sides also discussed issues of enhancing bilateral relations, taking into account Ireland’s successful experience in the field of the “green economy” and renewable energy sources, expanding the legal framework, and strengthening cooperation through multilateral cooperation within the UN.

The ministers agreed to hold inter-MFA political consultations at the level of deputy ministers in the format of an online conference in the near future.
