Bishkek, Dec. 21, 2023. / Kabar/. Bilateral Kyrgyz-Uzbek negotiations in an expanded format took place in Tashkent today. The Kyrgyz delegation was headed by Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev, and the Uzbek delegation by Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, during the negotiations topical issues of bilateral relations were discussed, including the implementation of previously reached agreements at the high and highest levels.
The sides emphasized the high level of political ties between the two states and effective cooperation in the international arena; the need to improve forms of political and diplomatic interaction was noted.
Attaching historical significance to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Uzbekistan, the heads of delegations noted the importance of maintaining a high level of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek comprehensive strategic partnership, based on the established traditions of centuries-old friendship, good neighborliness, and mutual respect.
The ministers highly appreciated the established practice of mutual support for important global initiatives and proposals of the two countries on current issues of the international and regional agenda within the framework of international organizations.
Issues of developing bilateral trade and economic cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, aimed at expanding economic opportunities and maintaining the level of well-being of the population of the two countries, were discussed.
The negotiations also included a discussion of current issues of mutual cooperation in the field of transport and logistics, water and energy, cultural and humanitarian spheres, as well as the expansion of the bilateral legal framework and interaction in the consular sphere.
Following the results of productive negotiations, the ministers signed a corresponding protocol.
